Boston Design Week 2018

Boston Design Week continues through the end of this week, and for those not already familiar with the event, we encourage you to take a closer look. This city-wide event was created “to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design, foster recognition of the vital role design plays in our lives, and bring new audiences to a wide array of design industries and organizations.”

For architecture enthusiasts, the Lived Space: Humans and Architecture exhibit at deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum in Lincoln, MA may be of special interest. The exhibit description reads: “Just as expressions like ‘corridors of the mind’ and ‘window to the soul’ illustrate a link between architecture and our inner world, the artists featured in Lived Space: Humans and Architecture  explore our psychological and physical attachments to the spaces we build and inhabit. In their work, interior rooms function as receptacles of memory, emotion, and identity. Some artworks show the human body merging with the built environment, while others present imaginary structures that exist solely in the artist’s mind.”

For more details on the more than 70 events featured in this year’s event, check out the Boston Design Week guidebook. We hope to see you there!
